With Animal Kingdom out in Australia and soon-to-be released in the US I thought I would put up my interview I did with one of the stars of the movie, Joel Edgerton. Animal Kingdom was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival where I caught up with Joel before the first screening of the movie. It was a great night for the Animal Kingdom crew and director David Michod. I remember I walked out of the screening and an American guy heard my accent and said “Are you Australian?” I said “Yep….did you enjoy the film?” The American fella just looked at me with fear on his face and said “You’re a bunch of sickos down there”. I guess David Michod did his job in creating this chilling gangster thriller.

Joel has been to Sundance a few times and we have a good yarn about getting free stuff and of course the movie.

The magic of the Sundance Film Festival is that you get to run into very talented people. I was walking down Main Street and managed to track down the very talented JJ Adler. In her normal life she is the director of The Onion News Network tv.theonion.com

In her Sundance life she is the director of a short film called “New Media”.

I chatted to JJ Adler just after she had won a couple of big checks for being a great new director. I’ve always wanted to win a big check and she had loads of them!

I think Kristen Stewart is fantastic and I’ll admit I get a little tongue tied when I talk to her…I was lucky enough to have a yarn with her at the red carpet for the new Joan Jett bio pic THE RUNAWAYS at the Sundance Film Festival. The film also stars Dakota Fanning. I don’t think she liked my last question!!!
