2011 was an interesting year. An appetizer to a much bigger leap/Olympic year in 2012.

I had a lot of lowlights and the odd highlight in 2011 interviewing people.

Early on in the year I managed to secure my lowest of lowlights…..or maybe it is a highlight. I managed to scare the heck out of Jennifer Aniston….

And then later on in the year I reckon I found the highlight when I ran into Ricky Gervais again. This could also be called a lowlight when reflecting on the language we both used on each other while standing on a red carpet. Already looking forward to him hosting the Golden Globes again in a few weeks.

Simon Pegg brings the laughs and the action in Mission Impossible 4. He is also starring in the movie The Adventures of TinTin with his good mate Nick Frost. I had a yarn with Simon about Ghost Protocol. He starts off discussing Tom Cruise. And yes we also chat about those little black plugs that they use for motion capture in follow up to our colorful chat with Nick Frost

Anil Kapoor tells me all about his new role as Jack Bauer. The legendary TV character played by Keifer Sutherland will be taken to the sub-continent in the Indian version of 24. Anil and I had a chat about him playing the tormented action hero.

I first ran into Anil Kapoor when he was running around America promoting Slumdog Millionaire. He has always enjoyed a chat. In Mission Impossible 4 he plays a billionaire playboy and we discuss the art of seduction in the movies.

It’s not every day you get to go head to head with one of the guys that is a legend in his field and one of the guys who brought happiness to so many of us. Steven Speilberg was walking along his own red carpet to discuss TinTin. He gets excited about motion capture technology that his new best mate Peter Jackson has been creating since Lord of the Rings.

We talked about new technology and then I threw him a wobbly. A trivia question from his past.

Nick Frost made a great impact with his buddy Simon Pegg in the movie’s Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. A funny man with a good outlook on the world. I caught up with him to chat about his motion capture experience in the Steven Speilberg helmed The Adventures of TinTin. He also appears in this with Simon Pegg. Nick gives me a fair analysis of what it’s like to wear the blue suit, get the plugs attached to his body and be directed by the legendary Steven Speilberg.

Mission Impossible 4 is packed with action and great stunts. As we know Tom Cruise still has a crack at his own stunts. I catch him on the red carpet and find out if he still gets off on doing this stuff….

Paula Patton is incredible in the new movie, Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol. She goes crazy in one fight scene with another lady. On the red carpet she was in a fantastic mood. I actually nearly hugged her.

The Mission Impossible 4 Premiere in New York City was one of the biggest red carpets events of the last few years. Katies Holmes shuffled in quietly as thousands of fans cheered and awaited her superstar husband. Before Tom made his way down the carpet, TV legend Alan Thicke chatted to people along the press line, while holding the hand of his beautiful wife Tanya Callau. Alan’s son, Robin, is the husband of Paula Patton who is fantastic in MI4 as a chief butt kicker. As for Tanya, the piece of material she missed out of her dress on the red carpet definitely turned heads.

Scarlett Johansson stars in the new Cameron Crowe movie, We Bought a Zoo. Scarlett once again looks beautiful as a zookeeper that tries to bring sense to Matt Damon’s world after he ambitiously bought a zoo. The last time I interviewed Scarlett was for Iron Man 2 when she played Black Widow. Back then my head nearly exploded talking to her. I’m not sure why I was so excited. This time I tried to keep my cool.
